Volunteers

The Scottsdale Historical Museum relies almost exclusively on volunteers in order to be open to the public and maintain its archives. Every volunteer is an important and valued member of our team.

Docent volunteers at the Scottsdale Historical Museum are the face of the museum to the public greeting visitors, orienting them to the museum and answering their questions. Being a docent is a great way to meet people – visitors from nearby and around the world plus fellow docents you will meet during your shift and at annual volunteer appreciation events. Volunteer docents are asked to commit to at least one 3 hour shift per month. If you are interested in becoming a part of this worthwhile group call our docent Coordinator, Lois Fagan 480-423-8893.

We have other opportunities to volunteer at the museum. This includes assisting with archiving documents and pictures and helping with fundraising activities. Please call the museum office if you are interested, 480-945-4499.
